Bob Ego

As a studio musician, performer, and educator I offer a unique approach to playing the drum set.

Styles
Jazz, Rock, Country, Latin, African, Music from India and World Music just to name a few.

Curriculum: My curriculum for beginners to advanced students consists of understanding the note value, technique, posture, using the metronome, playing in the pocket, theory, rudiments, time keeping, swing, chart interpretation, independence, syncopation, ploy-rhythms, poly metric modulation, odd time signatures, how to approach auditions, studio recording and performing live.

Practicing: Allocating practice time is very important to strengthen your technique, stamina, endurance and control. Learning should be fun. If your not having fun then you’re not doing it right.

Products: I endorse Sabian, Ludwig, Regal Tip, Vic Firth and Remo.

Education:

  • The Tommy Banks School of Music Edmonton Alberta

  • University of Alberta

  • Berkley College Boston.

Everyone has a special talent and it’s up to the teacher to bring that talent to the surface.  If you have any questions on my approach to teaching please contact me at the link below.  I personally reply to all emails.

 My best!
